Criminal Penalties for Possession of Xanax
Xanax is a Class E substance. Anyone found guilty of illegal possession of Xanax faces the following penalties under Massachusetts law:
- 1st Offense: imprisonment up to 6 months in a house of corrections and a fine up to $500. Loss of driver’s license for one year.
- 2nd Offense: imprisonment up to 2 year in a house of correction and/or a fine of not more than two thousand dollars.
