EAST BRIDGEWATER – Six East Bridgewater residents have been indicted in connection with an out-of-control February party that caused more than $50,000 in damage to an Elm Street home.

The charges are as follows: Gersham Grossman, 18, is charged with malicious injury to property and malicious damage to a motor vehicle.

Michael Edwards and Daniel Peterson, both 18, are charged with malicious injury to property, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and assault and battery.

Benjamin Knox, 20, is charged with malicious injury to property and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Daniel Coe, 20, is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery.

Jordan O’Neil, 18, is charged with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery.

Homeowners Daniel Abbett and Jill Steidle-Abbett were away in Paris on Feb. 20, the night of the party. According to police, their 18-year-old son, Alex Steidle, was staying with neighbors and had gone to the house to check on it.

According to court documents, a 16-year-old acquaintance showed up at the house and suggested a party. Steidle refused, police say, but about an hour or two later, several teens arrived and entered the house. More followed, having been alerted to the party on the social-networking site Facebook.

Police say partygoers kicked and punched holes in the walls, ceilings and doors. They torched antique furniture and valuable items went missing.

In addition, prosecutors say Grossman ripped the door from Abbet’s truck by backing it into a parked car while the passenger door was open.

According to the homeowners, estimated losses to property from the party, including the vehicle, the home, and valuable assets, exceed $50,000.
